Prisoner name: Alexander Saunders otherwise John Johnson.
Court and date of trial: Essex Quarter Sessions August 1824.
Crime: Breaking and entering a dwelling house and stealing various articles.
Initial sentence: 18 Months' imprisonment with hard labour.
Gaoler's report: Conduct during imprisonment has been turbulent.
Annotated (Outcome): There is no power of removing him to the Penitentiary or any other prison and he does not appear to Mr peel to merit a pardon.
Petitioner(s): T G Bramston chairman of the visiting magistrates of Essex.
Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Diseased eyes; asks for help in preventing prisoner going totally blind.
