Over the lifetime of the Central Council, it consulted the following committees, which were established either under statutory instrument or by resolution of the Council: Finance and General Purposes Committee and its successor, the Finance Committee; Midwifery Committee; Health Visiting Joint Committee of the United Kingdom Central Council and National Boards; Professional Conduct Committee; District Nursing Joint Committee of the United Kingdom Central Council and National Boards; Registration Committee; Educational Policy Advisory Committee; Health Committee; Standards and Ethics Committee; Education Committee; Nursing and Community Health Care Nursing Committee; Preliminary Proceedings Committee; Joint Education Committee; and the Management Board of the Central Council.
