Court and date of trial: Carmarthen Lent Assizes held in March 1838.
Crime: Assault upon Edward Adams and William Chambers, magistrates.
Initial sentence: Six months imprisonment and hard labour.

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Misinformation given to magistrates; was unaware magistrates were acting in their line of duty; family dependent on his wages; punishment not equal with that inflicted on the other prisoners.
