Description

A small selection of bankruptcy case files from the Official Receiver's offices and which relate to famous or infamous individuals some of whom were subject to substantial media interest and cases which set a precedent.

The files contain formal documents completed during the bankruptcy process:- petitions, notices of appointment of administrators and meetings of creditors, affidavits, statements of affairs, orders, investigations, distribution of assets, business records and information on the bankrupt's financial situation. The statement of affairs and the public examination document provide a background narrative on the circumstances of the bankruptcy.

A small selection of bankruptcy case files relating to famous or infamous indviduals some of whom were subject to substantial media interest and cases where a precedent was set. The following themes in the Acquisition Criteria apply: 3.1.4 Regulation and support of economic activity by government, including industry, services, agriculture, transport, energy, trade and employment productivity. 3.2.1 The economic, social and demographic condition of the UK, as documented by the state's dealings with individuals, communities and organisations outside its own formal boundaries.
