The Institute for Apprenticeships was established by the Apprenticeships, Skills and Learning Act 2009 as amended by the Enterprise Act 2016. The Institute is an executive, non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Education. The Institute for Apprenticeships aims to ensure high-quality apprenticeship standards and advises the government on funding for each standard.
