These records were transferred to this series as part of the programme of migration of digital records at The National Archives in March 2008 and were presented via Electronic Records Online until 2014.
The Committee on Standards in Public Life published the Reports and Evidence on CD-ROM starting with the Fifth Report (The Funding of Political Parties in the United Kingdom). This series contains these and other digital records of the committee, including agendas, case studies, minutes, operational notes, papers, transcripts of press conferences, press notices, reports and transcripts of hearings.

The records were originally created in Word Perfect 5.1. The files were transferred to the Public Record Office on floppy disks and were then copied into Word 6 format and verified to confirm the integrity of the data. The Word Perfect files were later copied into Word 7 format and printed to Postscript files for permanent preservation.
