Appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of New York.
Captured ship: Arnoldus and Johanna Galley: master Martin Kool.
History: one of two Dutch ships trading between France, Curacao and St Domingue; taken in 1745 by the privateers Lincoln (John Jauncey commanding), Triton (Francis Rosewell commanding) and Knowles (Seth Place commanding), and brought into New York.
Manuscript appeal papers, including a transcript from New York of proceedings, examinations, ship's papers, bills of lading and letters covering both the Arnoldus and Joahanna Galley, and the Maria and Elizabeth Galley (master Christian vanden Kroon), both taken in the West Indies by the same captors.
