Appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Jamaica.
Captured ship: Anna Maria y San Felix; master Joseph Felix de Flores and Francis Molla.
Hisotry: a Spanish ship, bound from Cartagena via Havana to Cadiz, laden with specie (over 600,000 ryals), taken on 3/14 September 1748 (OS/NS) by a squadron under Admiral Charles Knowles, comprising HMS Cornwall (Polycarpus Taylor commanding), HMS Tilbury (Charles Pawlett commanding), HMS Canterbury (Edward Clarke commanding), HMS Strafford (David Brodie commanding) and HMS Oxford (Edmund Toll commanding)
Manuscript appeal papers, including transcripts from Jamaica, ship's papers with translations, accounts of the payment of prize money, and a list of crew actually on board the captors on the day of the capture (with their signatures).
