9499. John Chetwood of Elizabeth Town, New Jersey to Carleton. New York. Memorial. Representing that when the British troops were in New Jersey in June 1780, they were principally encamped on his plantation. Claims for itemised losses of grass, forage and livestock. Also £12 for the damage (detailed) done to a riding chair lent to convey the wounded General Stirling. With sworn deposition by Thomas Price and account totalling £119 6s 0d New York currency. Certificate by Isaac Ogden. Endorsed 'It is too late - the Board has closed all business' Signed Frederick Mackenzie, Deputy Adjutant-General, dated 5 November 1783.
