KV 6/146
1937 Oct 02 - 1963 Jun 19
Gisela Hendrina WINEGARD, alias KLEIN: German, stateless. A fashion and photographer's model in the late 1930s, Gisela KLEIN studied in England and travelled widely, including time in Egypt. During this time she was apparently on terms of close friendship with a number of well-connected British military officers. In 1938 she was believed to be the mistress of the German military attache in Paris, KRAUSE-BRANDSTETTER, and information obtained later suggested that she had been involved with German Intelligence. She was in contact over a long period from the 1930s to the 1950s with Army officer and Conservative MP John PROFUMO
With two photographs. Serial 19b: extract of 1942 censored letter from KLEIN to John PROFUMO. Serial 58a: summary of knowledge about KLEIN/WINEGARD
