9131. Robert B Carre to Carleton. New York. Memorial. Refers to services rendered during the siege of York for which he received a compliment of 200 guineas from Clinton. That he had received promises from Colonel De Lancey of being put into some genteel employment in one of the departments and that he had offered a vessel for the service which was negotiated for. That he was sent with dispatches to Jamaica and captured, and meanwhile the ship was not taken into the service but lay neglected at the wharfs to her entire ruin. Begs to be extricated from his troubles.
