9123. Brook Watson to Major Frederick MacKenzie. New York. Has received a letter from Mr McWilliams, Assistant Commissary at Annapolis Royal stating that many of the refugees who went from New York last fall with Major Ward had settled on the bason and had applied to him for a further indulgence of provisions. These people were victualled for twelve months but their lands were allotted too late to reap any benefit from them this season. Asks the directions of the Commander-in-Chief.
