9103. [Carleton] to Governor John Parr. New York. Encloses a copy of a memorial from the officer of the British Legion. Ignorant of the situation of the place they desire to go to, has ordered the corps to Halifax that His Excellency and Brigadier-General Fox may determine with them on the place they are to settle at. Is informed that the persons from Machias, said to have settled themselves to the eastward of the River St Croix have returned to their own province.
