9084. Lieutenant-Colonel Oliver De Lancey to the Commander-in-Chief [Carleton]. New York. Requesting a delay over an apparent vacancy in the King's American Regiment, some error having been occassioned by the unusual manner in which the establishment from the War Office is worded. Twelve lieutenants were to be appointed of which only eleven actually exist. Has sent for Sergeant Brown to explain to him the circumstances.
