Report of the movements of the 1st and 2nd Battle Cruiser squadrons and the 1st Light cruiser squadron. Description of the action as seen by Beatty. Three enemy battle cruisers concentrating their fire on HNS Lion and caused considerable damage. Signals sent. Beatty's transfer to HMS Princess Royal. Remaining battle cruisers concentrate and sink armoured cruiser Blucher. Enemy battle cruisers damaged but escape. Protection of damaged HMS Lion, (folios 42-47). Signal received from Vice Admiral Commanding taken to mean to attack Blusher thus allowing the enemys three battle cruisers to get out of range. Note the Historical Section in 1921 was unable to trace the Track Chart referred to in this report.
