Description

Prisoner name: George Sunderland.

Court and date of trial: Wakefield [Yorkshire] Sessions January 1828.

Crime: Poaching the grounds of Nostel Priory the property of Charles Winn.

Initial sentence: 7 years transportation.

Annotated (Outcome): Nil the character of the prisoner not being satisfactory. January 30 1828.

Petitioner(s): Charles Winn; William Sunderland prisoner's father.

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Previous good conduct; aged father in reduced circumstances; good conduct on hulk in Bermuda as appointed overlooker and storekeeper.

Additional Information: On board Weymouth at Bermuda.
