Description

Prisoner name: Cornelius Stringer.

Prisoner age: 40.

Court and date of trial: Bedford [Bedfordshire] Quarter Sessions July 1823.

Crime: Stealing pigeons.

Initial sentence: 7 years transportation.

Gaoler's report: A noted thief has been in custody before and has been living by plunder for the last 7 years.

Annotated (Outcome): On continuation of good conduct his case will be considered hereafter.

Petitioner(s): G Harker.

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Substantial improvement in character; asks for remission in sentence to reflect this improvement.
