Description

Prisoner name: Mary Murray.

Court and date of trial: Old Bailey October Sessions 1827.

Crime: Uttering counterfeit coin.

Initial sentence: 2 years imprisonment.

Gaoler's report: A very bad case - 15 bad shillings found on her person concealed.

Annotated (Outcome): Nil. February 14 1828.

Petitioner(s): Prisoner.

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Tried to pay for drinks in public house with coins; landlord said they were bad and called an officer; friendless in prison.

Additional Information: Prisoner's petition forwarded by Lord Binning. Held in Giltspur Street [London] prison.
