Description

Envelope, unmarked, containing four cuttings, one photograph, five postcards, one typed note , all relating to viaducts on the Great Western Railway:

Cuttings, monochrome photographic illustrations:

1) ['The Railway Magazine', April 1931], 'Carnon Viaduct' [repeat of item ZSPC11/495/46].

2) unidentified, undated publication [c 1898], 'The Original Wooden Gover Viaduct, Near St Austell', reverse 'The New Stone Viaduct at Gover, near St Austell'.

3) unidentified, undated publication, 'The Old Wooden and New Stone Viaducts at [Coombe by] Saltash', [image c 1894].

4) unidentified, undated publication, 'The original Wooden Viaduct at Treviddo, near Menheniot', [image c 1899].

5) Photograph, monochrome, 9 cm x 14 cm, typed note on reverse 'St George's Road, Truro, Cornwall (reproduction from old photograph) [undated]', 10 [November] 1947.

Postcards, 9 cm x 14 cm, photographic illustrations:

6) colour tinted, 'Victoria Gardens, Truro', published 'Botterell [and] Sons, Liskeard', undated [c 1905].

7) colour tinted, 'Menheniot Viaduct' [also known as Coldrennick viaduct], published 'Valentine's Series', undated [c 1906].

8) monochrome, 'An Old Cornish Railway Viaduct, Trenance, near St Austell', undated [c 1905].

items 9, 10 and 11, joined:

9) duplicate of item 8 with edges trimmed.

10) monochrome, 'St Austell, Viaducts etc', pubished 'F Frith [and Company Limited]', No 41390, undated [c 1899].

11) Typed note, 'The correct name for the St Austell viaduct is Trenance', with brief details of views at items 9 and 10, 'Acknowledgement to Oscar Harris', undated [c 1950].
