Description

Prisoner name: Samuel Davies [Davyes].

Prisoner age: 29 years.

Court and date of trial: Nottinghamshire Quarter Sessions June 1836.

Crime: Housebreaking.

Initial sentence: Seven years transportation.

Gaoler's report: Not of sober habits. One muster bad, the rest good.

Annotated (Outcome): Nil.

Petitioner(s): Three petitions. First petition from Mary Davies, wife of the prisoner, and undersigned by 13 others, including the prosecutor. Second petition from [unknown]. Third petition from Mary Davies, wife of the prisoner, with statement by Henry Moult, the prosecutor.

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Innocent of the crime, respectable family.
