Folio 240: Captain Edward Vernon, the Mary at Kingston, Jamaica. He is sending this letter with the Ludlow Castle. The Adventure's main mast has sprung and Captain Davers reports rot. Bills have been made out payable to William Cockburn for careening and masts. Merchants are unwilling to do business on account of the exchange rate. The Boatswain of the Happy Sloop has been made Boatswain of the Ludlow Castle and replaced by the Boatswains Mate, Edward Varlow.
