Folio 228: Examination of Elizabeth Loriston at Newgate. She stated that Thomas Bayles, Purser of the Romney, formerly Purser of the Moore, who was a lodger in her house, fraudulently obtained the wages of deceased men of the Greenwich and the Moore, along with Thomas Tubman, formerly Mate of the Greenwich, afterward Lieutenant of the Burlington, Mate of the Scarborough and of the Pearle. Isabella Cowper, widow, who lives at Plymouth, and is on her way to London with papers to prove the allegations. Enclosed in f227.
