To: The General Board of Health.
From: Charles E Deacon, Town Clerk and Clerk to the Local Board of Health, Southampton [Hampshire].
Subject Matter: Letter calling attention to the following items in the particulars of the charge against the Local Board with respect to the cost of the preliminary inquiry at Southampton: For the printing - £154 16s 1d; Contingencies - £94 14s 8d. Deacon explains that the Local Board are of opinion that these sums should not be charged to them, and they feel assured that the General Board will, upon further consideration, withdraw the same from the account.
