From: Charles E Deacon, Town Clerk and Clerk to the Local Board of Health, Southampton [Hampshire].
Subject Matter: Letter advising that the Special Works Committee of the Southampton Local Board of Health have today had under their further consideration the General Board's communication of the 29 October 1855. With reference to the paragraph therein contained referring to the practicability of deodorising works being established, Deacon enquires whether the General Board are prepared to recommend the Local Board to adopt any specific plan for deodorising the sewage matter before discharging the same into the tide, or for using the same for agricultural purposes.
