7785. Brigadier-General Alured Clarke to Clinton. Philadelphia. Sends a return of the prisoners of war who have marched from this place. Boats should be at South Amboy on Friday next to receive the invalids and the spare stores. The number of men sent in falls very short of what is specified in the lowest return given by the Adjutant-General but he fears there will not be many more forthcoming. Captain Stapleton who delivers this can give full particulars relative to the business. Will remain here until further commands.
