The Solicitors Division C (SOCL) (1992-1996), later known as the Legal Service Directorate C (LEGAL C) (1996-2000), provided legal advice on industrial issues, financial assistance to industry and advice on intellectual property within the Department of Trade and Industry. The Legal Advice team (SOLC 3) (1992-1996), later known as LEGAL C3, C4 and C5 (1996-2000), provided legal advice to the Radiocommunications Agency on energy issues, telecommunications, radiocommunications, the Post Office and utility reviews.
