Captured ship: Pearl of Nantes, but really the Fortune of Elsendamme, master George Russell of Swansea.
History: as the Fortune of Elsendamme, laden with French wines and vinegar, was taken by a privateer in St Martin's roads; as the Pearl, was bound from La Rochelle to Ireland, and manned by English prisoners-of war; taken on 17 June 1667 off Scilly by HMS Victoria's Prize [HMS French Victory] (Thomas Scott commanding) and brought into Plymouth.
Documents: examinations, interrogatories, commission, and a parchment commission cut in two.
