Captured ship: Morning Star of Amsterdam, or Morgenstern or Etoile de Matin, master John Jacobsen of Amsterdam.
History: [bound from Amsterdam direct for Curacao in May 1672, laden with Dutch West India Company cargo and with a privateer's commission from them]; taken on 5 June 1672 by HMS Nightingale (Henry Clarke commanding) and brought into Plymouth the next day; Jacobsen had a privateer's commission and had taken three French prizes and one English (of Topsham, seven guns).
