Captured ship: John of Schiedam, master Peter Leonards.
History: bound from Zante with currants, and from Gallipoli [in Italy] to Amsterdam, laden with oil, sulphur and balm or box wood, via Cadiz where peace was rumoured to be concluded; taken in fight in late July 1667 by the privateers Panther (William Reeves commanding), Flying Greyhound (Edward Hogg commanding), and HMS Fanfan ([William Garris commanding, and killed) and brought into Hull.
