Captured ship: Postilion of Rotterdam, master Arj Jansen Block.
History: bound from the Maze in Holland to serve the Dutch fleet, laden with some small provisions which were sent to some of the common men in De Ruyter's fleet, and with several packets and letters directed to Michiel De Ruyter, the Deputy Johan De Witt, and several flag officers and other commanders, which were taken by the captor, but the packet of the Lord General of Holland was thrown overboard; taken in early July after a chase of 14 hours by the privateer Speedwell (Peter Kenton commanding) and brought into [Dover].
