Prisoner name: Samuel King.

Prisoner age: 29.

Court and date of trial: Essex Winter Assizes, November 1833.

Crime: Robbery.

Initial sentence: [Death], commuted to transportation for life.

Gaoler's report: Character bad. Convicted before. Married, four children.

Annotated (Outcome): Nil.

Other papers: Letter from Thomas C Neale, governor of Springfield gaol, forwarding statements and opining that conviction of King may have been in error and that robbery believed to have been committed by Thomas Judd, John Judd, Henry Dean, hay carter, and Thomas Cooper.
