Description

Prisoner name: James Peters.

Prisoner age: 16.

Prisoner occupation: Cordwainer's apprentice.

Court and date of trial: Petty Sessions, Cambridge, 22 March 1833.

Crime: Absenting himself from his master's service.

Initial sentence: 28 days imprisonment.

Annotated (Outcome): To be discharged. Remission prepared 30 March 1833.

Petitioner(s): John Chapman of Cambridge, cordwainer, the prisoner's master.

J Adcock of Cambridge.

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Illness (blister on side).

Other papers: Surgeon's certificate from B Winterton of Cambridge, surgeon, confirming the prisoner's ill health.

Letter from J Adcock forwarding papers on behalf of James Peters, silversmith, the prisoner's uncle.

Additional Information: Prisoner held in Cambridge gaol.
