Folio 275: Commissioner Sir Richard Beach, Portsmouth. The orders regarding Sir Ralph Delavell's men will be complied with. He will send to Mrs. Steventon, the widow of the late Purser of the York, for the tickets of the men who did not belong to the ship. He will pay the other half of the money owing to Captain Layton. He is disappointed Captain Willshaw has not arrived as he sent away most of his goods. Report on the condition of the Exeter and Plymouth. The Cadiz Merchant is ready to launch. The Hope is very leaky but Captain Allen does not want to bring her into port, so they have sent Shipwrights and Caulkers out to her. Report on the damage to the Northumberland which is at Spithead. The Cygnet will only require caulking ready for a Channel voyage. The money has arrived and he will begin paying tomorrow.
