Folio 171: Commissioner Sir Richard Beach, Portsmouth. Is sending an account of the stores needed to refit the ships due to come into port. Asks for money to pay their bills. The Master Ropemaker is using all the hours possible to increase production, some of the men are working elsewhere in order to get some money to help their families. The Plymouth sailed to Spithead, the Cambridge was launched and the Edgar will be docked. Report of the damage caused, by the storm, to the merchantmen in Stokes Bay, one from Lisbon laden with salt, oranges and lemons. The Dutch man-of-war damaged the Oxford. Mr. Watts has surveyed her and she can be repaired. Neither the Yorke nor the Essex has arrived. Asks for a supply of brimstone.
