Folio 169: Commissioner Sir Richard Beach, Portsmouth. Asks for money to be sent as there is no more credit to be had, The Purveyor has examined Mr. Winter's masts and they are of good quality, but he is in London at present. They have provided longboats for the Jersey and the Burford, and are preparing a pinnace for the Jersey. Asks for a supply of brimstone and canvas. The Dutch ships want boats from the stores but they cannot provide them. He has hired a large vessel to assist in the weighing of the St. David. They will supply the Hope and Montague with cables. A squadron of ships has appeared with Rear Admiral Berkeley.
