6797. Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Number 8. Warrant to pay Mr John St Clair, paymaster to the 17th Regiment of Light Dragoons the sum of £2,206 0s 7¼d sterling. Being subsistence for the said regiment from 25 December 1782 to 23 February 1783 inclusive, as per the annexed account. From which the sum of £578 14s 11d sterling to be detained for non-effective men and horses and 14,034 rations of provisions issued. Also £8 1s 4d sterling for stoppages due the hospitals at New York.
