6561. [Carleton] to Major William Anstruther. New York. Lieutenant Slack of the Corps of Engineers is appointed to examine into the military state and defences of Bermuda and inspect and muster the Garrison Battalion now there, and he is to give him every assistance. Has ordered one of the companies of the battalion at this place to be sent out together with supplies for the militia and troops.
