6559. Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Number 265. Warrant to pay Captain Charles Bingham of the Volunteers of Ireland the sum of £30 sterling. Being a compensation recommended by the Board of Officers, to be allowed him for the loss of his horse and part of his baggage on the evacuation of Camden on 6 May 1781, as per the annexed account, and at rates fixed by the said Board of Officers. Two documents with similar wording but differing amounts. One showing £30 sterling and another with £60 sterling.
