6148. Colonel Oliver De Lancey to Lieutenant-Colonel Humphrys. Headquarters, New York. Sends list of men belonging to the 79th Regiment who arrived in New York last June. They are all of need of necessaries. Carleton has ordered those fit for service to be drafted into the 54th and the remainder invalided home to England. Has transmitted to Humphry's agent the certificates entitling his regiment to their usual allowances. Lieutenant Smith will receive directions to join his regiment shortly. Two from 79th arrived at Bermuda on 18 June intending to proceed to Jamaica. The men drafted represent that there is a considerable arrear of pay due to them.
