6146. Carleton to Major-General De Riedesel. Received previous letter. Begs his best regard to Madam Riedesel, congratulates both, returns many thanks and is much flattered by the honour intended him. Wishes both all happiness. The nature of the present conveyance will not allow him many words but he has already given orders and taken all the precautions in his power for furthering as is now desired, the troops and clothing &c., consigned to the care of Captain Cleve.
