6143. [Carleton] to the 'Hereditary Prince of Hesse Cassel'. New York. The corps of Hesse-Hanau and the artillery, prisoners under the Convention of Saratoga, have been exchanged or are on parole and sent to Canada. The troops of Hesse of every denomination are entitled to his greatest respect. Expects soon to return to Europe.
