The Medium Term and Policy Analysis Group was constituted under the Treasury re-organisation of 1975. The Group was responsible for the medium term assessments, advice on macro-economic aspects of public expenditure programmes, analysis of major economic policy options and advice on the economic aspects of counter-inflation policies.
