Custodial history
When the Property Services Agency closed in 1990, these records were transferred sequentially to the custody of the Department of the Environment (to 1997), then to the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (1997-2001), then to the Department of Transport, Local Government and the Regions (2001-2002) and finally to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (2002-2006).

Selection and destruction information
Selected under Acquisition Policy criterion 2.2.1.3, documenting construction and maintenance issues at key UK defence bases. Files relating to air base maintenance on which PSA took the lead have been selected, files relating to other bases where PSA contributed to Commander-in-Chief's planning but did not lead, have not been selected.
