To: The Local Government Act Office.
From: Frederick Stratton, Clerk to the Guardians of the Isle of Wight Union, Newport, Isle of Wight.
Subject Matter: Letter renewing the application he made on the 1 July 1868, complaining of the default of the parish Officers of the Parish of Yarmouth in not taking steps to abate the nuisances existing in the Town of Yarmouth due to a total want of any system of drainage. Stratton explains that in compliance with the suggestion contained in the Local Government Act Office's letter of the 7 July, a complaint was again made to the Overseers of the Parish of Yarmouth, pointing out to them many of the specific nuisances calling for removal. Several subsequent letters are said to have been sent to the Overseers, but no satisfactory reply, or indeed any reply at all to the last letter, has been received.
