Description

Folios 514-517.

To: The Local Government Act Office.

From: The Reverend John Glover, Vicar and Ex Officio Chairman of the Brading Vestry, Brading, Isle of Wight.

Subject Matter: Letter acknowledging receipt of maps of Brading Parish. Glover submits that the maps which have been returned as 'useless' were made strictly according to the Local Government Act Office's orders, at an expense of £7. He observes that the Ordnance map which has been sent is the same as that which he previously sent to the Office, and which was returned as unsuitable. Glover requests that another copy of the Ordnance map is sent to him, so that he may keep a copy of the boundaries traced, similar to the copy that will be in the possession of the Local Government Act Office.

[Folios 516-517 are a minute on Glover's communication by Arnold Taylor. Taylor remarks that he does not recall having seen any Ordnance plan of Brading Parish on the same scale as that which was recently sent from the Local Government Act Office to Brading. If, however, such a plan was forwarded, as Glover states, and then afterwards returned to Brading as unsuitable, Taylor queries why the parish should require a further copy of the map to be made].
