Folios 374-379.
To: The General Board of Health.
From: Henry Austin, Superintending Inspector, The General Board of Health.
Subject Matter: Report on the plans of proposed water works for the District of Lancaster [Lancashire], for which the Local Board of Health for that district have applied for sanction to borrow, on security of the rates, the sum of £12,000. Austin recommends that the sanction of the Board be given, on the condition that three fourths only of the amounts due shall be paid to the Contractors for the works of water supply until it shall have been certified to the satisfaction of the General Board of Health that such works have been executed according to the plans and regulations which have been laid down and submitted to the General Board and approved by them.
