To: The General Board of Health.
From: Robert Rawlinson, Superintending Inspector, The General Board of Health.
Subject Matter: Report on an application from the Hitchin Local Board of Health [Hertfordshire] for sanction to raise a certain sum of money to purchase a mill, locally know as Port Mill, and also to purchase certain other property named in their application. Rawlinson considers it most desirable to remove the mill and its dam for the purpose of efficiently draining the town. He therefore recommends that the Local Board be enabled to complete the purchase proposed, subject to such conditions and further documentary evidence, plans etc., as the General Board may deem necessary.
