Description

Folios 584-585.

To: The General Board of Health.

From: William Stevens Jnr, Clerk (pro tem) to the Local Board of Health, Hitchin [Hertfordshire].

Subject Matter: Letter calling attention to the fact that on the 25 August 1850, he requested to be informed how soon the expenses of the preliminary inquiry at Hitchin would be paid by the Treasury, in accordance with Section 11 of the Public Health Act 1848. Stevens requests a reply to that communication, in order that he may be in a position to give an answer to the persons whose claims remain unsatisfied, and who are frequently making enquiries of him on this point.
