To: William Stevens Jnr, Clerk (pro tem) to the Local Board of Health, Hitchin [Hertfordshire].
From: The General Board of Health.
Subject Matter: Draft letter acknowledging receipt of a letter dated 4 September 1850, in reference to the survey of Hitchin by the Office of Ordnance. Stevens is advised that the General Board received an intimation from the Ordnance Office some days since that, in conformity with the request of the General Board, they had authorised the survey of the Township of Hitchin; and there is no doubt that instructions for that purpose will be issued in due course by the Ordnance Office.
