To: The General Board of Health.
From: William Stevens Jnr, Clerk (pro tem) to the Local Board of Health, Hitchin [Hertfordshire].
Subject Matter: Letter acknowledging receipt of a letter addressed to Mr John Hawkins of the 26 June 1850, advising 'that there is now every probability of satisfactory arrangements being concluded with the Ordnance for their aid in the surveys under the Public Health Act'. Stevens requests to be informed when the Local Board might expect any further communication in relation to the assistance of the Ordnance.
